Our Rufus NEIPA, a hazy, juicy New England IPA, commemorates the Rufus King, which met its fate near Amity Point in 1947. Shipwreck: Spanish Galleon – Hidden in the Eighteen Mile Swamp

Our Galleon Cold IPA pays tribute to the legend of the Spanish Galleon, rumoured to be buried beneath the Eighteen Mile Swamp. Legend has it that lightning strikes are more frequent near the wreck, drawn by the gold coins hidden beneath. Our interpretation of a Cold IPA uses rice to lighten the body, a lager yeast brewed at warmer temps in a refreshing nod to Steam Beer, and new world hops that give a moderate bitterness and loads of tropical fruit.

Shipwreck: The Prosperity – Wrecked near Point Lookout

Our Prosperity Cali IPA is inspired by The Prosperity, wrecked on the rocks off Point Lookout. Remnants of its cargo still surface in the shifting sands, and a skeleton uncovered years later gave rise to the name Deadman’s Beach. Pilsner malt and slightly lower ABV set the stage for a lighter, brighter and super crushable IPA style that holds no punches when it comes bold, new world fruit characters and resinous bitterness.

Shipwreck: The Sovereign – Run Aground at Amity Point

Dark as the depths and bold in taste, Sovereign Black IPA is inspired by The Sovereign, a paddle steamer that sank off Amity Point. Of the 54 aboard, only ten survived, saved by local men who braved dangerous waters to bring them ashore. Black IPA was one of the first reinventions of the darling of the US craft brewing explosion, and our brewers’ penchant for the dark side of beer means we’re keen to keep the style alive. Complex malt and roast characters balance carefully with resinous pine and stonefruit focussed hop character.

Honouring the heroism of The Centaur, an Australian hospital ship tragically torpedoed off Point Lookout by the Japanese in WWII. , the Centaur DIPA is a robust, hop-soaked modern double IPA with an old soul. Intense and complex, this IPA is a fitting tribute to the courage and resilience of its namesake.
