Some of life’s best conversations happen around a shared table. They’re sparked by incredible food, memorable drinks and the people who dedicate their lives to crafting them. That’s the inspiration behind The Makers’ Table—a new island degustation series celebrating the artistry, passion and stories behind both brewing and winemaking.
Hosted on the rooftop of Straddie Brewing Co. overlooking the waters of Moreton Bay, each Makers’ Table event brings together a respected and inspirational Australian winemaker alongside our own Head Brewer, Andrew Sydes, for an intimate evening of exceptional food, thoughtfully matched pairings and fascinating conversation.
As the afternoon fades into evening, guests will watch the sun dip behind the mainland while enjoying four chef-curated courses, paired with premium wines and island crafted beers. Hosted by Straddie Brewing Co. co-founder Troy Beaven, the evening is relaxed, interactive and filled with the stories behind every glass.
This is island dining at its finest.
An Evening Designed Around the Island
Every Makers’ Table event begins at 5:30pm, perfectly timed for guests arriving on the afternoon Sealink passenger ferry from Cleveland. After a short stroll from the Dunwich ferry terminal, you’ll be welcomed to Straddie Brewing Co. for an evening that unfolds at an unhurried island pace.
Over the next three hours you’ll enjoy four beautifully prepared courses, hear directly from the featured winemaker and brewer, and watch one of the best sunsets in South East Queensland from our rooftop overlooking Moreton Bay. The evening concludes in time for guests to comfortably make the final Sealink passenger ferry back to the mainland—making The Makers’ Table the perfect excuse for an unforgettable afternoon and evening on North Stradbroke Island.
Because this is what island dining can be.
Three Unique Evenings. Three Unique Stories.
While the format remains the same, each Makers’ Table experience is completely unique, showcasing a different winery, a different winemaker, exceptional craft beers and a fresh seasonal four-course menu.

Witches Falls Wines with Abby Heslop
Saturday 10 October
Few people bridge the worlds of brewing and winemaking like Abby Heslop. As Head Brewer at Boxer Brewing Co (Mt Tambourine) and a qualified winemaker, Abby is inspired by both vineyards and brewhouses. Long before she was crafting award-worthy beers, Abby was surrounded by barrels, vineyards and vintage at Witches Falls Winery, where her father, Jon Heslop, built one of Queensland’s most respected wine brands. She brings a unique perspective to flavour, fermentation and craftsmanship. Join us as she explores where these two worlds collide in a night celebrating the art of both wine and beer.
