The Makers’ Table: Tomfoolery Wines comes to Straddie
This Saturday, 26 September, The Makers’ Table returns to our rooftop for an intimate evening of exceptional food, wine and straddie beer — with one very special guest making the trip from the Barossa Valley.
Ben ‘Chippy’ Chipman, owner and chief winemaker of Tomfoolery Wines, joins us to share his wines, his stories and his passion for making wine his own way. Ben’s winemaking career has included time at Rockford Wines, working under Robert O’Callaghan and Chris Ringland, as well as winemaking experience in Spain. Today, he and wife Sarah run Tomfoolery from their property at Light Pass in the Barossa, producing small-batch wines with a hands-on, minimal-intervention approach.

Chef Alex has created a menu especially for the evening, with each course paired with one Tomfoolery wine and one Straddie beer.
We’ll welcome sunset with 2026 Cut & Run Riesling + Island Lager, before moving to Young Blood Grenache and AC Nitro Stout paired with beef tartare; Trouble & Strife Rosé and La Belle Saison paired with swordfish and tuna; Black & Blue Shiraz and Jumpinpin IPA paired with beef short rib; and finishing with Fox Whistle Pinot Gris and Myora Springs Sour alongside citrus meringue trifle.
