We love Straddie. And we’re guessing by your visit to this page, that you do too.
Join us and the Straddie community on Sunday 20th March 2022 to clean up our island home, Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
Did you know that Australia alone now produces a whopping 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste each year? Yikes! That equates to around 100kg of waste per person. Of this, 130,000 tonnes of plastic ends up in our beloved oceans and beaches. The 33 km stretch of Main Beach cops a portion of this trash and that’s where our Clean Up efforts will be concentrated on during Sunday 20th March.
In previous years, the Community Clean Up day on Straddie has been extremely successful, with on average, 350kg of rubbish (including micro plastics) collected during a morning’s session.
Let’s all be a part of the solution! Come on foot or with your 4WD*. There’s a lot of beach to clean.
We have a 20% discount code** for any registered volunteers that are bringing their car over on the car ferry. Thanks Sealink!
