#8 THE BUTCHER SMOKED PORTER

#8 in our Sandpit Series is a classic Brown Porter –  perfect for sipping by the pint, or by the campfire, during the cooler months here on Straddie.

Our brewers are frequently tormented by the delicious waft of Stradbroke Island Butchery’s chamber smoker firing up over the fence. Between that and the cosy smell of fireplaces all over town firing up whenever the temperature gets anywhere near single digits… Sandpit Series #8 had to be smokey – smoked porter was a simple decision.

The Butcher Smoked Porter is a beer that matches the Straddie ‘winter’ vibe. We smoked some delicious Veloria Schooner Malt from our friends at @voyager_craft_malt in our neighbour’s chamber smoker then brewed with it the very next cool morning.

Rich milk chocolate, apple strudel and subtle beech smoke give way to cold-drip Columbian coffee and vanilla with a soft, gently sweet finish.
